Abstract Submission Guideline

2. PRESENTATION FORMATS
Oral presentation
A full-length 12–15 minute presentation plus Q&A within a concurrent session, suitable for completed studies, robust implementation or behavioural studies done at scale, novel conceptual/methodological work advancing the field, or large scale policy analyses/case studies done using behavioural or implementation science lens with clear implications for practice or policy.
Lightning talk
A concise 5–7 minute oral presentation highlighting key findings or practice/policy insights that can be communicated clearly and quickly. These are suitable for earlier phase research or research in progress, case studies, or novel scientific ideas and hypotheses for further development.
Poster presentation
Visual display of completed or in-progress work, with presenters available during designated poster sessions for poster review, discussion and Q&A with the audience.
3. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- General requirements
- Language: Abstracts must be written in English.
- Length: Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words (excluding title, author names, and affiliations).
- Content Requirements:
- Abstracts should not contain tables, images, graphs, or figures.
- Abstracts must report data (quantitative or qualitative) or clearly describe a practice/policy initiative or protocol in sufficient detail.
- Submission Process: Each abstract must be submitted via the online abstract submission form by the stated deadline.
- Information required in the abstract
On the submission form, you will be asked to provide the following:- Title
- Brief, informative and clearly indicating the nature of the work
- Authors and affiliations
- Full name of all authors in the order they should appear
- Indicate the presenting and corresponding author(s)
- Main institutional affiliation and country of affiliation (up to two affiliations per author).
- Presentation format preference
- Select between:
- Oral presentation
- Lightning talk
- Poster presentation
- Select between:
- Conference theme
- Indicate alignment with the most relevant theme of those listed in the Call for Abstracts for the conference.

- Abstract structure
Use the following headings in the abstract text:- Background/Problem Statement: Describe the context and importance of the study or outline the problem your work addresses and state the study aims/objectives.
- Methods: Provide a concise summary of the methods used to collect the data reported, or how the policy analysis/case study was carried out.
- Results: Report the key findings of the research or implementation/policy analysis.
- Conclusion: Summarise the implications, translational value and/or potential impact of the work.
- Proposal relevance: Please explain the relevance of this proposal to behavioural science and implementation science.
- Consent and permissions
Your consent is required for:- Abstract text to be published on the conference website, in the event programme, and in the published conference proceedings (if accepted).
- Your presentation (where relevant) to be recorded and shared with registered participants.
- Title
- Eligibility and conditions
- Submitting an abstract does not constitute registration for the conference; all presenting authors must register and pay the applicable fees for their presentation to be included in the programme.
- There is no limit on the number of abstracts an individual may submit; if more than two abstracts from the same first author are accepted, co‑authors may be asked to present additional papers.
- Abstract content is the responsibility of the authors and will not be edited for spelling, grammar, or scientific content.
- Resubmissions are not allowed.
4. REVIEW AND SELECTION CRITERIA
All abstracts will undergo peer review by the Scientific Advisory Committee.
Abstracts will be assessed on:
- Relevance and alignment with the conference themes or tracks.
- Clarity and significance of the question, issue, or innovation.
- Methodological rigour or appropriateness of the approach.
- Originality and/or innovation.
- Translational value and potential impact on practice, services, or policy.
- Suitability for the selected presentation format (oral, poster, lightning, curated panel).
The committee will consider your preferred presentation format but may allocate accepted abstracts to another format to optimise the programme. The committee’s decisions are final.
5. KEY DATES AND NOTIFICATIONS
Abstract submission deadline: 31 May 2026
Notification of acceptance and presentation format: By 10 July 2026
Presenting author registration deadline: 21 July 2026
Notifications of acceptance and presentation details will be sent by email to the indicated corresponding author for each abstract.
